What ‘People Helping People’ Means to Clark County Credit Union

CCCU passionately supports community. This means being able to provide the best products and services for our members to help them reach their financial goals and dreams. To expand on the idea of People Helping People, which is the credit union motto, they created the CCCU Cares Committee. This group organizes the support of local charity groups and organizations while allowing CCCU employees an opportunity to give back to their local community with company paid volunteer time off. This also allows our membership to get involved in the giving spirit. Here’s a wrap-up of our year and the participation from our staff of nearly 200 employees:

Volunteerism in 2020

  • 33 employee participants for the annual Runnin’ for the House 5k to support RMHC
  • 37 employee participants for the annual Superhero 5k to support Candlelighters
  • 11 employee participants at the Annual Day of Caring project for Get Outdoors Nevada
  • 3 employees participated in the Serving Those Who Serve Veterans event
  • 34 classes read to during Nevada Reading week by CCCU employees

Clark County Credit Union Employee & Member Donations

  • 100+ Boxed cereal to Project 150’s homeless youth from employees
  • 6,684 School supplies to Keller E.S. & Antonello E.S. for in-need students from member and employee donations
  • 155+ Pajamas to children and families of Olive Crest from employees
  • $1,161.25 raised for Candlelighters’s annual Superhero 5k
  • Charity Donations
  • $10,000 to Project 150 for additional food distribution to homeless teens and their families
  • 50 Hygiene Kits donated to homeless vets through the Nevin Lawson Foundation
  • $37,500 to Lutheran Social Services
  • $9,000 Happy Bonus Days total distributions: Candlelighters of SNV, HELP of Southern Nevada, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Three Square, and Down Syndrome Organization of Nevada

Sponsorships/Scholarships

  • $5,000 Smart Start Scholarships (5 local students received a $1,000 higher education scholarship)
  • $10,000 to the RMHC event- Home: Where Our Story Begins

Despite the challenges of 2020, Clark County Credit Union continues to help the people in the communities we serve. Through philanthropy and humanitarianism CCCU is enriching the Southern Nevada community one organization at a time with the help of our staff and our members.
